But with the intelligent tiering, S3 will charge $0.023 for frequently accessed data and $0.0125 for infrequently accessed data.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Intelligent Tiering for existing objects in S3<\/b><\/h2><p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1425\" src=\"http:\/\/genesesolution.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-05-31-at-12.26.06-300x298.png\" alt=\"lifecycle-rule\" width=\"300\" height=\"298\" \/><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to your desired bucket and click on the \u201cManagement\u201d tab. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under Lifecycle, Click on \u2018Add lifecycle rule\u201d tab. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Give the name of the rule.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want the whole objects to transition to Intelligent tiering, then leave blank in \u201cprefix\/tag filter\u201d field. Otherwise, you can filter by the prefix for specific objects. Click Next<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Storage class transition, If versioning is enabled, then you have add transition to both versions. If versioning is not enabled, then tick only on \u201cCurrent Version\u201d tab. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, Click on Add transition. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select a transition and choose \u201cTransition to Intelligent-Tiering after\u201d, set 0 in days. Click Next for two more times and Save it. <\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><i>(It might take up to 24 hours to see the changes made by Lifecycle policy)<\/i><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><b>Intelligent Tiering for new objects with S3 Console<\/b><\/h2><h2><b><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1426 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/genesesolution.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-05-31-at-12.28.08-1024x659.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"659\" \/><\/b><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to your desired bucket and click on \u201cUpload\u201d. Click \u201cAdd files\u201d and choose some files.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click Next for two more times, Select \u201cIntelligent-Tiering\u201d in Storage Class. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click Next and Click Upload.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><b>Intelligent Tiering for new objects with CLI<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With AWS CLI, we need to add an extra argument in the CLI command. Here are some examples:<\/span><\/p><blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aws s3 cp test.txt s3:\/\/mybucket\/test2.txt &#8211;storage-class <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:
