We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development and Sales Manager responsible for creating effective sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives as well as analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and address any issues or areas for improvement.

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 06:00 PM) from Monday to Friday

Position Overview

Business Development and Sales Manager is responsible for establishing ambitious yet achievable targets for the sales team. He/she will be responsible to create effective sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives as well as analyze sales data, identify trends, and address any issues or areas for improvement. Overall, he/she will be responsible for managing and overseeing the sales process and team within a business.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  2. Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies, and analyzing trends and results.
  3. Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products.
  4. Maintains sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors, and supply and demand.
  5. Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
  6. Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  7. Offer the best product/solution available to solve customer’s pain points, conduct product pitches and demos, handle the questions and objections from the client, facilitate the conversation with OEM whenever necessary
  8. Have a good understanding of the businesses products or services and be able to advise others about them; discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  9. Lead major client negotiations and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention
  10. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and develop new business opportunities.
  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
  12. Develop and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics.
  13. Stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices to guide strategic decision-making and ensure compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Task Related Skills and Certifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; master’s degree preferred
  2. Proven track record of at least 6-7 years in progressively responsible sales roles within the SAAS technology industry.
  3. Strong understanding of SAAS business models, technology trends, and competitive landscape.
  4. Strong understanding of the Nigerian market dynamics, including customer preferences, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.
