On 2nd January,2020 Girls in Tech-Nepal chapter was launched in Purwanchal Campus,Dharan which falls in Province 1 of Nepal. The event was themed Women, Technology and Entrepreneurship and it was a first of its kind outreach program held at that campus- which highlighted the importance of women in Technology and Entrepreneurship. The event had women attendees from all walks of life, with a majority of them being tech students.
The event had the presence of four prominent leaders and speakers namely Mr.AnjaniPhuyal,Global CTO at Genese Solution, Ms.EktaGolcha, Founder and Director of Delta Tech, Dr.DakshataRana,Founding Member and Director of Kidsproof Nepal and Open Arms Nepal and Ms.PromishaMishra,Telecom Engineer at Nepal Telecom who shared their life stories and conducted a panel discussion on the common problems faced by women in their personal and professional frontiers.
The outcome of the event was highly effective with women attendees willing to come out of their status quo and involve themselves in technology and entrepreneurship.
