Job Title: Tech Lead – Nigeria

Designation: Tech Lead

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Location: Lagos, with frequent travel across Africa

Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 06:00 PM) from Monday to Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead with a deep understanding of the African market and culture to steer our technology team. The role requires a unique blend of technical prowess and cultural insight to effectively guide our product development and tailor our technological solutions to the African market. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in leading tech teams, a robust knowledge of software development, and cloud technologies, and a proven track record of navigating the African tech landscape.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Lead the development and implementation of technology strategies that align with the dynamics of the African market.
2. Cultivate a deep understanding of local market conditions and consumer behaviors to tailor tech solutions accordingly.
3. Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring the adoption of best practices and the delivery of high-quality software.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate market-specific needs into product development.
5. Serve as a cultural ambassador within the company, educating and guiding teams on the nuances of operating in African markets.
6. Facilitate communication between local market stakeholders and the company’s tech department.

Skills and Qualifications

• Task Related Skills and Certifications 

1. Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Developer with team leadership responsibilities.
2. Strong technical background in software development and cloud technologies.

• Competencies and Soft Skills 

1. Familiarity with the cultural and business landscape of Africa.
2. Excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
3. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
4. Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English and, preferably, one or more African languages.
