At Genese Solution, we believe distribution networks don’t slow down because of scale; they slow down when the head office can’t see what’s happening in the field. When Dabur Nepal, one of the country’s largest FMCG manufacturers and exporters, needed live visibility across hundreds of SKUs (stock-keeping units) and a growing distributor base, we partnered to digitize its distribution from warehouse to retail shelf.
The Challenge
Dabur Nepal moves hundreds of SKUs a day, from manufacturing, through warehouses, to 120+ distributors and thousands of retail outlets. Inventory ran across separate, largely manual processes, which produced four recurring problems, the same ones any manufacturer or distributor hits when stock still moves on paper:
- No centralized, real-time view of distributor stock or secondary sales; decisions ran on reports that were already out of date.
- Orders and stock movements captured by hand, causing lag and transcription errors.
- Reconciling returns, damages, and promotional stock required extensive manual verification.
- Trade-promotion inventory across hundreds of distributors could not be tracked as it moved.
Why this partnership
Genese Solution delivers enterprise distribution and inventory systems on the ground in Nepal and worldwide. For Dabur Nepal, Genese delivered an integrated DMS + SFA platform in 2021 connecting 120+ distributors and 230+ field representatives, and has delivered comparable systems for other large in-country manufacturers. As an AWS partner, Genese also builds and runs cloud-scale platforms for high-volume and regulated environments. The combination is a single partner with proven local delivery, enterprise integration, and automation capability.
The Solution
We implemented an integrated Distribution Management System (DMS) and Sales Force Automation (SFA), connecting manufacturing, warehouses, 120+ distributors, 230+ field reps, and retailers on a single platform:
- Mobile SFA for field reps, capture orders, check stock, plan routes, and track collections in real time
- Automated data capture (barcode / RFID and mobile) with OCR / AI recognition and validation for paper documents, removing manual re-keying
- Centralized trade promotion management to track schemes, claims, and campaign performance
- Retailer mapping for stronger coverage and market penetration
- Middleware integration with existing systems, including those without a native API
- Controlled stock-adjustment workflow
