Position Overview

The Finance Officer / Senior Finance Officer performs a key operational support role within Genese Solution’s global finance team. Working under the direct guidance and supervision of the Global Finance Manager, this individual acts as an operational point of coordination between entry-level accounting staff and finance leadership.

Beyond general accounting duties, this position assists and guides junior bookkeepers, leads the extraction and consolidation of cloud console billing data, executes intercompany reconciliations, and handles vendor finance tasks under manager direction. The ideal candidate is analytical, quick to adapt to cloud tech business models, and meticulous in maintaining accurate global financial records.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Vendor Finance & Communication

• Vendor Liaison: Support global cloud and software vendor (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Zoom) operations regarding purchases, billing queries, credit terms, and payment statuses as directed by the Finance Manager.
• Invoice Matching & Verification: Oversee the matching of vendor invoices against extracted console usage data and purchase orders; escalate any identified discrepancies or disputes to the Global Finance Manager and communicate with vendors strictly as directed.
• Vendor Statements & Payable Management: Request, review, and reconcile vendor statements of account to maintain accurate payables ledger records and support timely vendor disbursements under supervision.

2. Billing Data Extraction & Compilation

• Console Usage Data Extraction: Oversee and execute the extraction of raw usage and purchase data from multi-cloud vendor portals.
• Billing Master Compilation: Consolidate and format console extraction data into clean billing master files for the invoicing team (Note: Focus is on data extraction, verification, and compilation rather than generating customer invoices).
• Unbilled Usage Accruals: Calculate month-end unbilled expense accruals based on real-time vendor console activity.

3. Intercompany Transactions & Global Reconciliations

• Intercompany Ledger Posting: Accurately record cross-border and intercompany transactions across international entities under manager supervision.
• Intercompany & GL Reconciliations: Perform regular intercompany balance reconciliations, obtain confirmation statements from counterparty entities, and conduct monthly balance sheet account reviews.
• Reporting Support: Prepare intercompany schedule reports and balance confirmations for the Global Finance Manager.

4. Month-End Financials & Reporting Assistance

• Month-End Close Execution: Help coordinate and execute month-end closing procedures within required deadlines.
• Financial Statement Prep Support: Assist the Finance Manager in gathering data, reviewing GL movements, and drafting preliminary P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow schedules.
• Projections & Variance Analysis: Assist in reviewing actuals against revenue projections and compiling variance reports for cloud usage trends and departmental budgets.

5. Team Support & Bookkeeping Oversight

• Supervising Junior Staff: Review and assist junior bookkeepers and accounting clerks in their daily ledger entries, voucher processing, and routine bookkeeping functions.
• Quality Control: Ensure accounting accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with company accounting policies across entry-level work.

6. RevOps & FP&A Support

• Revenue & Usage Analytics: Assist in compiling, organizing, and analyzing financial and operational datasets to monitor recurring revenue, cloud usage trends, and pipeline metrics.
• Financial Planning & Forecasting: Support the Global Finance Manager in preparing rolling forecasts, departmental budgets, and variance reports by building preliminary financial models and tracking actual performance against projections.
• Operational Alignment: Work closely with revenue-generating and operations teams to streamline revenue workflows, reconcile commercial data, and provide data-driven insights for management decision-making.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (BBA / BBS / MBS / B.Com). Partial professional qualification (ACCA / CA / CPA) is a plus, but not required.

• Experience: 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reconciliations, or vendor finance functions. Experience in an IT, SaaS, or tech-consulting setting is preferred.

• Technical Skills:
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic automation/formulas).
• Familiarity with standard cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Tally ERP, or similar ERPs).
• Ability to navigate and extract data from cloud vendor portals (AWS, Google, Zoom, etc.).

• Key Soft Skills:
• Communication & Escalation Discipline: Professional written and verbal communication, with strong discipline in following escalation channels before contacting external parties.
• Attention to Detail: High precision in verifying numbers, tracking balances, and reviewing junior team outputs.
• Cross-Functional & Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, and IT) combined with the analytical capability required to support RevOps initiatives and FP&A functions.
