Location: Bakhundole, Lalitpur 44600, Nepal
Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 06:00 PM) from Monday to Friday
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented System Admin Intern to support daily IT operations, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and assist with system, network, and user administration tasks. This role offers hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, device management, enterprise tools, and technical support in a professional environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
IT Support & Hardware Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal Tier 1 IT support, troubleshooting local hardware, software, and connectivity errors for employees.
- Perform physical hardware diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, with a specific focus on company laptops and desktop units.
- Manage the setup, configuration, and allocation of desktop/laptop computers and peripherals during new employee onboarding.
Network & Systems Administration
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the company’s local network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Help administer user accounts, system permissions, and access across corporate tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, Atlassian, Zoho).
- Assist with the basic administration, upgrading, and configuration of operating systems (Linux and Windows).
Operations & Documentation
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and step-by-step procedures to help build and maintain our internal technical knowledge base.
- Support the System Engineering team with regular data backup operations, failover procedures, and basic security monitoring.
- Learn and apply Agile methodologies while assisting senior engineers with daily infrastructure tasks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and system information.
Skills and Qualifications
Educational Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or currently pursuing) in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Must Have Skill sets
- Solid understanding of computer hardware components.
- Basic understanding of Windows and Linux OS.
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, LAN).
Key Job-related Technical Skills
- Hardware troubleshooting/repair, basic networking configuration, OS installation (Windows/Linux), basic software troubleshooting.
Key Job-related Conceptual Skills
- Strong logical deduction for troubleshooting, basic understanding of Operating System, cloud concepts and client-server architecture
Desired Personality/Behavioral Traits
- Highly enthusiastic, proactive learner, strong problem-solving mindset, patient communication style for end-user support, and a team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in NLP, Generative AI, or deep learning models.
- Knowledge of Big Data ecosystems such as Hadoop, Trino, or MinIO.
- Understanding of AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI principles.
- Prior experience in the financial or banking sector is a plus.
