Position Overview

Genese Solution, a UK-based value IT consulting company, is seeking an experienced Senior System & DevOps Manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Genese’s IT infrastructure and client environments. This role involves strategic decision-making, advanced troubleshooting, and team leadership, ensuring high service reliability and compliance with industry standards. The Senior System Administrator will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, driving automation, and advising clients on infrastructure best practices

Roles and Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Leadership

  • Architect, deploy, and optimize Windows/Linux servers and hybrid infrastructures.

  • Lead implementation and governance of AWS and Azure solutions (IAM, networking, automation, security).

  • Drive containerization and virtualization strategies (Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Oversee infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, and high-availability design.

Network & Security Oversight

  • Lead configuration and management of firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise networks.

  • Define and enforce security standards aligned with ISO 27001 and client compliance.

  • Implement advanced monitoring, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management.

  • Champion identity and access management (IAM), MFA, and zero-trust policies.

Service Delivery & Escalation Management

  • Act as final escalation point (L3/L4) for complex incidents.

  • Ensure SLAs, uptime, and performance targets are consistently met.

  • Support pre-sales and client advisory by providing infrastructure insights.

  • Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity exercises.

Automation, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish enterprise-grade monitoring solutions (Prometheus, CloudWatch, Zabbix), Nagios.

  • Champion automation of deployments and system tasks (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).

  • Conduct root-cause analysis and drive continuous service improvements.

  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps aligned with Genese’s strategic goals.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide junior system administrators and support engineers.

  • Collaborate with Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Product teams on cross-functional initiatives.

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and knowledge base.

Represent IT in client workshops, audits, and strategic discussions.

Skills and Qualification
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
      • 5–8 years of progressive experience in system administration/IT infrastructure
      • ECCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Expert, CISSP/CompTIA Security+
      • Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud environments
      • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and ITIL frameworks

      Prior consulting or managed services experience in a client-facing role

      Soft Skill
          • Leadership mindset with ability to mentor and build high-performing teams
          • Strong client engagement and advisory skills
          • Strategic thinker with ability to balance technical and business priorities
          • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
